CROSSING THE ROAD
 

A sick and shaggy dog was searching the garbage. Finally it found a rotten bone, with a piece of meat sticking on it. The dog got his head  deeper into the garbage, to stare at an insect, which was trying to pick up a snatch of meat.

The dog approached its face for the second time and smelled the rest of the meat. The saliva flowed from its mouth mixed  with the dust, while it was opening it and getting it's tongue out. The dog caught the bone by its teeth and ran to its puppies. Nothing stopped it except for the middle of the street. A car passed, another one followed and the dog saw the third car coming. So it continued crossing the road, but it didn't reach its puppies.
