THE HARVEST DAY
He
stopped his car, got out with his wife and went toward a shopping
center. A group of children drew his attention. One of them motivated
his dog toward the sitters in front of the entrance, but the dog was
looking right and left trying to find something to eat.
At the entrance, he stopped suddenly and jumped out of his skin,
shaking. His wife whispered to his ear, but he didn't answer. She tried
to pull him, but he didn't move. She grabbed his forearm, but he stood
still. Then she left him, worried, and shouted for help. Everybody
ran toward her, they gathered around him and their voices were heard:
* It is the envy. Said one.
* Another one said, "I think
that it's a beginning of a cerebrum clot".
* A third one added " Or it's
the palsy".
The tears vomited and mixed with his blood. Another shape and color,
it's coal-black as the blackness of his mother mantle, which gave him
her life and all what she had after his father's death, to fulfill her
and his father's dream. She waited for that day to come, she was
leaving her room every morning and evening. In the morning she was
working as a housemaid. In the evening she was sewing dresses for women.
And when she earned some money, she kept half in her pocket and the
other half to buy what her son needed and also the sewing requirements.
On the harvest day, she didn't feel happy. A bullet was fired into
his mouth and she was killed.
* To whom will you leave me?
..... I have to leave.
* To wh..o..m will you leave...me?
..... I must ...lea...
* To wh..o..m....
A paralytic, lank and sick body, putting his fist on the ground, trying
to lift his body and pushes it to the front, to the defiance....
Their eyes met. Her groan was flaming and its wind gusted the entire
place. It uprooted her sweat drops. She hit her chest by her hand and
put her right hand under her left breast, taking out some money
package, which was the same of the heart size. She removed the knot and
gave it to him. Then she ran away while her shadow was following her.
